Betty Bean in today’s Halls Shopper reports on Knology’s complete failure to meet its contractual obligations with the city of Knoxville.
This would probably come as a surprise to scores of residents who have no access to Knology’s services. It is difficult to determine how far short of meeting its obligations Knology actually is, since the company doesn’t release detailed information about their coverage areas. But they must get permission from Knoxville Utilities Board for “pole attachments” each time a new customer is hooked up, and KUB reports that Knology has not requested a pole attachment since December 2004.
Knology is also not living up to its contractual obligation to carry Community TV’s telecasts of City Council, school board and County Commission meetings.
I know I find it plenty annoying that they aren’t available in MY NEIGHBORHOOD.

God bless that Betty. She’s one helluva reporter!
