“One of the great challenges facing us is that we do not commit the same mistakes with our growing Hispanic population that we did with African Americans 150 years ago and beyond. We’re still paying the price for the pathetic manner in which this country handled that.”

- Mike Huckabee, Dec. 6, 2006, comparing our current immigration problem with antebellum slave masters.

That’s the stupidest non-sequitur I’ve seen all day. What is the implication? That illegals are here because they were commoditized and sold to modern-day cotton farmers? Please.

And while I am ranting, can someone please give us a quality Presidential candidate from EITHER party? And can we please shorten the election season by… oh, 6 months!

If the government would quit lining there own pockets , and spend our money on CLOSING our bourders maybe, just maybe, this wouldn’t be such a big issue during the election process. And it doesn’t matter what they tell us to get elected they never remember the common man or what they promised us when they get in there !!!!!!
