And Tennessee bloggers reacted.
From Sharon Cobb:
I mentioned weeks ago that it was a slippery slope for Hillary to go on her girlie tour with her high school friends to show what a nice gal she is. They even set up a website with testimonials from people who know her privately to verify she is indeed a nice lady.
I remember my response at the time was, “What next, dresses? How long before the Catholic School Girl outfit?”
I found her tour to soften her image to be disingenuous, almost as disingenuous has her crocodile tears.
Poor woman was so distraught yesterday, it was down right amazing how she managed to take jabs at Barack Obama through it all.
Here is a woman who in her own words has repeatedly said she doesn’t like to show emotion publicly. She managed not to cry publicly when she was humiliated in front of the entire world by her husband, she managed not to cry publicly when she was being hammered on a daily basis by a special prosecutor, she managed not to cry publicly at several funerals she attended as First Lady, and I’m supposed to believe a question about how hard it is for her makes her cry?
Bullocks.
From Rachel at KnoxViews:
All I see is somebody acting like a real human being who actually cares about something.
And these are “tears”? Geez, I’ve cried more than that over a sad movie. Heck, I’ve seen my spouse cry more than that at a sad movie.
I’m not a huge Hillary fan, but I am truly pissed that she’s getting attacked over this. We need more intelligent passion like this, not less.
Edwards’ response was classless and cost him my primary vote (not that it will matter by Feb. 5). I hope Elizabeth kicked him where it hurts.
And from Newscoma:
She can’t win either way. She shows emotion, she’s a hysterical woman. She acts tough and she’s a ballbreaker.
Amazing. I thought we lived in 2008. Oh, wait …

I can’t believe people think it was sincere. Hillary is not Meryl Streep, but she is a fine actress. Crying on cue is a requirement for actors.
I don’t think this is about Hillary Clinton. For me this is about how no matter what I do, no matter how competent I am, no matter how much experience I have. I’m always just a woman…and a target for this kind of hate if I dare to raise my head above the parapet.
