Bush opens up about his “addiction” to alcohol

As his presidency draws to a close, George Bush seems increasingly more willing to talk openly about his long-rumored personal addiction issues:

The president told a group of former prisoners in Baltimore today that he “drank too much at one time” in his life, going as far as calling it an “addiction.” He told the group at the Christian center, “sometimes you can find the inspiration from a higher power to solve an addiction problem.”

Last month, he urged a group of recovering addicts to continue their fight, saying that, “addiction competes for your affection” and addicts “fall in love with alcohol.”
