Jim Cooper and Bob Corker have something in common

Interestingly, two Tennessee lawmakers - one from each party and one in each chamber - are among the smallish minority opposing the proposed tax rebate stimulus plan:

(Bob) Corker and Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper of Nashville are among a few members who oppose the politically popular plan to immediately send rebate checks to taxpayers - ranging from several hundred dollars to more than $1,000 - and provide some tax advantages to businesses. Cooper was the lone Tennessee House member and was one of only 35 lawmakers in the House who voted against the $146 billion package that passed the chamber Tuesday.

“I do feel like I am a voice in the wilderness,” Corker said.
