Chuck Bolus has withdrawn his request to be appointed as an interim Knox County Commissioner.

His statement:

Tuesday was a historic day in Knox County. Our citizens, over 91,000 of them, turned out in record numbers to voice their concerns over the way Knox County government has been conducted in the past. It is clear that our voters want transparency in the business of government and that they want to have dialogue with their elected representatives.

Therefore, I will not seek an appointment to County Commission, Seat 2-B, as an interim commissioner but instead will spend my time knocking on doors in my district and listening to the concerns of our citizens.

I congratulate Amy Broyles for her win in the Democrat primary on Tuesday and I look forward to a positive campaign.
