The inconvenient truth…about snakes

Posted By katie allison granju

OK, if Al Gore really wants to get people off their rear ends and riled up about global warming, this is the story he’s been waiting for:

As climate change warms the nation, giant Burmese pythons could colonize one-third of the USA, from San Francisco across the Southwest, Texas and the South and up north along the Virginia coast, according to U.S. Geological Survey maps released Wednesday.

The pythons can be 20 feet long and 250 pounds. They are highly adaptable to new environments.

After reading this — and shuddering in abject dread without pause for a long period of time — I vowed to immediately begin taking more aggressive measures to reduce my personal carbon footprint.
