I grew up in Tennessee.
I am a UT alumna.
I have lived in Knoxville as an adult ever since graduating from UT in 1991.
I know very little about sports.
I have only been to ONE (yes, that reads one, numero uno) UT football game in my life — and that was plenty for me.
I have never been to a UT basketball game - or any other UT sporting event.
But I - yes me - was so into and excited by watching the UT-Memphis basketball game tonight that I may actually send the UT Athletic Department a check on Monday.
That game was some serious fun. I want more.
For the first time in my life, I am not being slightly tongue-in-cheek when I say GO VOLS!!!!!!
(And go Bruce Pearl!!!)

are you one of those snobs that thought they were took cool for sports.? well i guess i’m glad that you like UT basketball, but you still really suck.
It was a great game to catch for a newcomer to sports. An in state rivalry between #1 vs. #2 is a rare event. There was a lot of pageantry and anticipation - even the celebs came out. As for Coach Bruce Pearl, he is an enigma. He has a fire to his persona that you cant help but to let blaze inside you. He is very genuine and caring. UTK could not have wished for anything better 3 years ago when they hired him. He awoke a sleeping giant and gave credibility to a basketball program that had been overshadowed by a football driven school.
