An interesting point from the release of the draft audit of p-card spending by Mayor Ragsdale and his staff:
$34,000 was spent on local meals by Ragsdale and six top staffers between October 2002 and May 2007.
Bad Behavior has blocked 783 access attempts in the last 7 days.
Makes you wonder how long Ragsdale can justify staying in office.
“$34,000 was spent on local meals by Ragsdale and six top staffers between October 2002 and May 2007.”
Assuming they use these meals for legitimate business expenses, this means that 7 people spent appx. $1099.65 per year per person on meals. That’s $21.15 per week, per person. Somehow, I have great difficulty getting exorcised about that. The school district P-card issues we had here in Texas last year where teachers were buying their students iPods was far more egregious.
I guess the question is, should they be eating **local ** meals out as regularly as the documents seem to indicate? How often should a Knox County employee be charging lunch to the county at all?
Important questions to ask.
