It’s a baby! In a bar!
I’ve blogged before about how excited I am about Knoxville’s new “gastropub,” The Crown and Goose, which opens tonight. I am even more excited, now that I notice they will actually be a kid-friendly kind of pub, which is great for those of us with young children who also like to go out now and again:
Our outdoor courtyard features the landscaping and authenticity of a true English garden and we’re currently working on a 60-foot mural depicting a 19th century London streetscape.
The traditional English beer garden was developed because of a law making it illegal for parents to bring their children into a building where alcohol was being served. That law led to the creation of gardens attached to pubs, which quickly became popular weekend venues where parents could enjoy a pint while dining out with their children. Whether or not you choose to bring the little ones, the Crown & Goose beer garden is sure to be a relaxing escape from the busy-busy.
