Video storytelling by democratic process - now with cash prizes!

Check out this neat-o new Knoxville online venture (funded by Scripps) called Rootclip.. The VP, Erik Luchauer describes it to me thusly:


Think choose-your-own adventure meets YouTube. We create a 1-minute video clip that starts a story. Then, the user community shoots their own 1-minute continuation to advance the story and they all vote on the submissions. The video with the highest number of votes becomes the next minute (chapter) in the story and the whole cycle repeats for about 6 chapters or so. Oh, and the cool part, we’re giving away cash-money.
