That’s what Terry Frank wants to know:
Check out this Sentinel Headline: School officers’ woes aired before board
School officers’ woes?? What’s going on here is a cover-up! I want to know what crimes have not been reported by school officials and administrators. Rape? Assault? Weapons crimes?
Three top law enforcement officials and a phalanx of school security officers appeared before Knox County school board members Monday to ask for their help in eradicating the distrust that seems to have developed between principals and officers placed at their schools.
A second purpose was to inform the board and administrators about some high schools’ lack of proper attendance reporting, which has hindered the district attorney’s truancy program.During the board’s mid-month workshop, District Attorney General Randy Nichols said part of the problem has been that sometimes principals don’t always report certain incidents to law enforcement for fear of how they would handle the situation, which could somehow “embarrass the schools.”
Bad Behavior has blocked 822 access attempts in the last 7 days.
Katie: An emailer sent a message stating that at last night’s meeting, DA Nichols indicated in his speech that a parent had contacted the Sheriff’s Department requesting an update on the status of a rape investigation. The Sheriff’s Dept. had no information because a rape had never been reported by school officials.
I know WBIR covered the meeting. Do you know if Nichols said that?
