Jennifer Brooks suggests the Tuke-Padgett match-up will play out as a primary do-over. What do you think?
If you liked the presidential primary race, you’re going to love the sequel.
Familiar faces from the Clinton/Obama matchup are returning for a new battle in Tennessee, this time challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander’s hold on his seat.
Democrats Bob Tuke and Mike Padgett are vying for the Democratic nomination. Tuke, a Nashville attorney and former chairman of the state Democratic Party, was Barack Obama’s Tennessee campaign chairman. Padgett, longtime Knox County clerk, sat on Hillary Clinton’s statewide steering committee and helped deliver Knox County on election night, the only urban county she carried in Tennessee.
The question now is whether the connections they made during that primary will help them win their own.

I Agree.
Lenny, do you mean you agree Padgett will win by 15 or so? Why? I do agree he would fare better with Independents and even Republicans in East TN in a General Election.
