TVA official goes non-profit

Southeast Community Capital has added a former Tennessee Valley Authority official to its ranks.

Amy Bunton, who oversaw existing business and industry initiatives and economic development loans at TVA, will focus on investor development and entrepreneurial economic development strategies for SCC. She also will manage the Tennessee Rural Opportunity Fund for the Nashville-based statewide nonprofit.

The newly established $10 million fund will provide capital and technical assistance to small businesses in rural areas of the state. It is expected support more than 350 small businesses and create 600 new jobs over the next 10 years.
