The response to my call for folks interested in blogging at our soon-to-be-launched, completely redesigned WBIR.com has been huge. I’m still trying to wade through dozens and dozens of e-mails from great people who’ve expressed an interest in becoming one of the featured bloggers for the new site. So for those of you who have yet to hear back from me, mea culpa. I promise I will get responses out to everyone soon. And thanks again very much for your interest.
We have, however, tapped a couple of folks already who will be blogging for us when the new WBIR.com launches. First up is Caroline Lamar, who is a producer at the station, who also freelances for various websites and publications. She’ll be penning a parenting blog called Caroline in Progress that I think folks will really enjoy.
Next up will be conservative commentator Terry Frank, who will focus her WBIR blogging on state government and politics.
And also joining us will be David Oatney, who is a prolific blogger already, but who has created a new blog for WBIR.com called The Davy Crockett Newsstand, that will have a hyperlocal focus on Hamblen and Jefferson County news and information.
Check back in the coming two weeks for more announcements of featured bloggers who will be joining our team. And it’s not too late to let me know if you are interested. E-mail me via the “contact us” button at the top of Knoxville Talks. I’m particularly interested in bloggers who would like to do what David Oatney will be doing, and blog about a very specific community’s comings and goings.

Oh God, just what we need, more exposure for Terry Frank.
Ya’ll like them conservatives, hmm?
