He’s a good sport, I’ll give him that.

Representing Knoxville’s District 18 in the state legislature, uber-Republican Stacey Campfield gets more than a little ribbing here at Knoxville Talks (he makes it so EASY ;-) ) , but he still gamely agreed to participate in our “10 Things” feature. He’s also a prolific and exceptionally honest political blogger.

So without further ado…

…………………………………………..

10 Things You May Not Know About…Rep. Stacey Campfield

KAG: What’s the best kept secret in Knoxville?

SC: Harbies pizza off Broadway. Their veggie supreme is awesome!!

(Note from KAG: I totally have to agree with SC on this one)

KAG: Describe your personal philosophy in one sentence.

You can have anything in the world but you can not have everything in the world so be focused.

KAG: What kind of car do you drive and why?

SC: I have three vehicles, I have a 93 Honda I drive for gas mileage and to get around, I have a 86 Dodge Ram pickup truck I use for work and to haul things around with and I have a red 65 Mustang I re did that I drive for pleasure.

KAG: If you were the DJ at my party, what would be the first five songs you would play?

SC: That would depend on the kind of party it was. Wedding? Birthday? Housewarming? Fun? Care to elaborate?

KAG: What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

SC: I don’t fear much of anything (of this world) so I really do no look at the things I do as brave. They are just things I do. I guess that is sort of a gift I have always had.

KAG: What’s your favorite joke?

SC: A skeleton walks into a bar and says “I’d like a beer…..and a mop. ” I know, it is a terrible joke and I know lots of good ones but that one is always the first that comes to mind and it still makes me grin. I wish it didn’t.

KAG: What’s your guilty pleasure?

SC: Politics.

KAG: What’s a talent few people know you have?

SC: Lets see….Typing?….No, Spelling?…..no, interpretive dance?…..no, I guess I would go with the martial arts. Before I got into politics I use to compete a lot and was a pretty good teacher. Motocross would be up there as well.

KAG: What’s the last book you finished?

SC: I read voraciously but it is mostly study material for work. The last book was called something like “How to spend half what you do now” It was probably 3 or 4 months ago. Once session starts I just concentrate on work related material.

KAG: If I handed you $1,000 to spend on something completely frivolous today, what would you buy?

SC: I would probably have to give it to the government. They are better at wasting my money then I am.
