10 Things You May Not Know About….Jenny Moshak

If you’re a Lady Vols fan, you know the critically important role Head Athletic Trainer Jenny Moshak (Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine) plays in the program’s success. Nationally known in her field of sports medicine and physiology, Jenny is a behind-the-scenes powerhouse who keeps some of the world’s top female athletes in peak condition, and helps them get back in the game when an injury hits.
Jenny’s importance to her team was recognized a few weeks ago when she was surprised with a lease for a brand new Mercedes along with the other top coaches at the celebration of the Lady Vols’ latest national title.
Jenny’s also my niece Eleanor’s beloved godmother, and one of the most inspiring people I know. She just oozes physical wellbeing. Just being in her presence makes you want to put down that beer and hop on a bike or go for a run.
And now here’s your chance to learn a few things about one of the reasons behind the UT Lady Vols’ amazing success.

10 Things You May Not Know About….Jenny Moshak
KAG: What’s the best kept secret in Knoxville?
JM: The Smoky Mountains. They are so beautiful, and many people live here for a long time and never go to explore or enjoy them.
KAG: Describe your personal philosophy in one sentence.
JM: Ice ‘n go.
KAG: What kind of car do you drive and why?
JM: I drive a Honda CRV because it can carry all of my toys. I also drive a new Mercedes convertible that was presented to me after the Final Four, and I am completely honored and appreciative to do so.
KAG: If you were the DJ at my party, what would be the first five songs you would play?
JM: I would start with Rocky Top and take requests from there.
KAG: What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
JM: I don’t know if this is brave, but one of the biggest challenges I have conquered (personally and physically) is riding by bicycle across the country - coast to coast.
KAG: What’s your favorite joke?
JM: I don’t have a favorite joke, but I love the “Maxine” cartoons because she says things we’re often thinking!
KAG: What’s your guilty pleasure?
JM: Getting massages.
KAG: What’s a talent few people know you have?
JM: I can do 24 pull-ups
What’s the last book you finished?
JM: The Kite Runner
KAG: If I handed you $1,000 to spend on something completely frivolous today, what would you buy?
JM: I would take my entire staff out for a limo ride and out to dinner at a fancy restaurant to celebrate our accomplishments and teamwork.
