An Esco Jarnigan witchhunt?

WBIR blogger David Oatney has some thoughts on recent developments with the sheriff in Hamblen County:

Hamblen County Sheriff Esco Jarnigan is one of the best Sheriffs in this State-at least in my opinion. We’ve only met a couple of times, but Sheriff Esco strikes me as a man who is seriously committed to his job of protecting the people of Hamblen County and enforcing the law. He has a good many enemies, however-and not a few of them are to be found in the Morristown-Hamblen Chamber of Commerce. As it happens, the Chamber holds to the belief that there is no problem with illegal immigration in Hamblen County, perhaps because some of their members like to hire illegals. Sheriff Esco knows better, of course, and he has no problem reporting illegals when he finds them.

Certain people who don’t have a problem with the influx of illegal immigration into Hamben and Jefferson Counties because they like to exploit our illegal visitors and their cheap labor. Some of these same folks have a real problem with Sheriff Esco Jarnigan. This begs the question: Are some of these folks secretly supporting the lawsuit against them?
