Join the WBIR Online Community

I’d like to invite all of you Knoxville Talks readers - and there are quite a few of you these days - to become members of our brand, spankin’ new WBIR Online Community. Here’s my own WBIR Profile right here.

Our community is similar to many other social networking sites with which you are already familiar, like My Space, Facebook and Linked In.

You can create a WBIR-hosted blog, upload photos to your own photo gallery, network with other community members, comment on our stories, and talk it up in our WBIR Forums.

Just click on the “Become a Member” link at the top of any page of WBIR.com. If you have any problems, or if you have questions, give me a call at 637-1272 (ask for Katie) and I’ll be happy to walk you through the sign-up process.

  1. ck said,

i don’t think the hosted blog option will be a draw for most serious bloggers. the knoxnews.com blog network aggregate model has been and will be more successful. people want independent third party blogging services like blogger and wordpress. and another social network? myspace and facebook is already too much. wbir needs to plug into and facilitate the stuff that people are already using, not reinvent the wheel with their own walled garden.

  2. I totally agree that people will continue to use other platforms, and we’ll be adding an aggregator very soon. The idea here is to offer folks the option of a WBIR platform. And what we can offer is a big online audience for blogs hosted at our site. Plus, some of the folks who blog at WBIR.com will end up having their blogs promoted to our on-air audience.

The idea here is not to replace or reinvent anything already happening in our blogging community, but to add another option, and enrich what’s going on.

    Make sense?

    ;-)
