10 Things You May Not Know About…Lumpy Lambert
Knox County Commissioner Greg “Lumpy” Lambert is one of only a few local politicians in recent years to find himself quoted in the New York Times.
However, he’s no stranger to national publicity; he was the subject of major news coverage back in 2000 when he offered his “Buy a car, get a gun” promotion at his used car dealership.
More recently, you may have heard of his homage to Charlton Heston, or last year, how he used his own gun to foil a would-be criminal.
But despite his penchant for garnering press attention, there are certainly some thing you probably don’t know about Lambert, and continuing in our Knoxville Talks series, here are 10 of them:

KAG: What’s the best kept secret in Knoxville?
LL: King Tut’s Grill 4132 Martin Mill Pike
KAG: Describe your personal philosophy in one sentence.
LL: I know I can’t win every battle but I always see that the conservative
viewpoint is represented.
KAG: What kind of car do you drive and why?
LL: A 97 Ford Contour, It is practical: It only has 45K miles on it and it
gets good milage.
KAG: If you were the DJ at my party, what would be the first five songs you
would play?

KAG: What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
LL: Run for public office.
KAG: What’s a talent few people know you have?
LL: I remember and quote poetry.
KAG: What’s the last book you finished?
LL: The Hobbit JRR TOLKIN (re-read a couple of months ago)
KAG: If I handed you $1,000 to spend on something completely frivolous today,
what would you buy?
LL: I would book a suite at the Crown Plaza for the weekend, and enjoy downtown Knoxville as if I were a tourist. We have a great downtown. I never understand why folks would drive several hours to spend the weekend in other cities when ours has so much to offer.
