Obama Campaign to Kick Off National “Vote for Change” Voter Registration Drive in Tennessee
Tennessee – The Obama campaign announced today that grassroots volunteers will hold a Vote for Change kickoff events on Saturday, May 10th in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville. Vote for Change is a 50-state voter registration and mobilization drive aimed at getting millions more Americans registered to vote and involved in the democratic process ahead of the November election.

You know. I have never sent a financial contribution to any political candidate in all of my going on 56 years. This white guy from a white working class background is going to send Mr. Obama some money. This guy has got a special spark that we have not seen in this country in years—since Reagan—Kennedy—Roosevelt. And wouldn’t it be great to see small kids running around on the White House lawn again. We haven’t seen that since Caroline and John-John.
But here is the big thing. No one can deny this. He is a guy that can do the impossible—and maybe that is what we need in America right now—and he has just proven. He has done what no other public figure or group in recent American history could do. Newt Gingrich couldn’t do it. Tom DeLay couldn’t do it. The U.S. Congress couldn’t do it. The Bush family couldn’t do it. special federal prosecutors couldn’t do it, the news media couldn’ do it, radio talk shows couldn’t do it, millions of dollars worth of private investor funding couldn’t do it, Jerry Falwell couldn’t do it, no one could do it—no matter how hard they tried or what object they threw. Obama has done it. He has slain the entire Clinton political machine and layed both Hillary and Bill out beside each other on the political morgue slab—and their little daughter too (as the Wicked Witch of the West might say). Now, I have to tell you. That’s the biggest miracle I have ever seen since Easter 33 Anno Domini.
He’s got my vote.
