Anthony Welsch notes a sharp exchange that took place at last night’s Knox County Commission meeting between Commission Chairman Tank Strickland and a fired-up resident seeking Ragsdale’s ouster:
At one point, a petitioner, Patti Walker says she spent her Memorial Day weekend gathering petitions and fighting for honest government while many people were boating and having picnics.
Tank Strickland quickly interrupted her. “I was getting dialysis. I was not at the picnic. You have one minute.” Sad to hear he spent the holiday under those conditions, but it sure brought a lot of smiles at the meeting.

IIRC, Patty Walker is a big buddy of Victoria DeFreese.
I didn’t know Tank Strickland was on dialysis, I wish him my best.
Hopefully we will get a chance to meet this election season.
While I have sympathy for Tank health condition I also sympathize with taxpayers trying to get services or anything necessary to their health and safety concerns in Knox County and what they are put through just to try to get somebody to listen to their problem. It’s understandable to me that they are frustrated, Just because Tank did not like the message is no reason to be rude to a citizen. I don’t understand if they want to be fair why people like Mike Edwards and others like him can drone on for hours on end, then sat down and come back for another hour or two and a citizen is lucky if they get 5 minutes and lots of times they get interrupted by one or more commissioners and never get to finish.
