The best move the Democrats could make would be to run Hillary as Obama’s Veep. The Democrats are most likely going to win anyway, but that would pretty much assure it.
And I think there is a little sadness here for me too. John McCain looked so old, surgeyed, and listless in his speech from Louisiana tonight. I was frankly shocked at his appearance and how poorly he came across in his speech. I say that as a long-time John McCain fan. Truth is. We needed him in 2000 when he was a younger and more vibrant person. Sad to say, his Republican Primary train was viciously wrecked in South Carolina by the likes of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, James Kenedy, James Dobson, John Hagee, and Bob Jones, etc. These great lights of “modrern” theology, in their self-holy wisdom, assured us that George W. Bush was the Anointed One for whom we all should vote. What did we get? We got a person who will almost assuredly be remembered as the worst President in American history—worse even than Warren G. Harding. And that born again Christian stuff about Bush? I just recall the scriptures, “Ye shall know them by their works.”
