Sen. Lamar Alexander talks a lot about his concern for the environment, and his support for cleaner air initiatives that might actually clear some of the coal-fired haze that plagues our region.
Yet, he too often sides with those who oppose progressive policy that might accomplish the goals he ostensibly supports. In the case of the Warner-Lieberman climate change legislation currently being debated, he is actually standing with Sen. Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), a man who is well-known as the U.S. government’s most vocal climate change denier. Yes, Sen. Alexander - our Senator - is standing on this issue with a guy who literally denies that climate change even exists.

Yes, there is hope for Senator Alexander that he will awaken and realize that throughout history, our planet does go through cyclical warming and cooling stages. Marxism in the name of environmentalism isn’t the answer for natural trends.
I think there is more to the bill than what is stated here. For one thing they are still touting emission CREDITS for those making EFFORTS to reduce emissions. Credits are not the route to take in this day of air pollution regardless of whether you believe in the climate change or not.
A lot of these bills are not just about the topic. Other factors get sneaked in the process and can cause other issues outside of the bill proposed. I would like to read the full bill and see their response as to why they stand against it. It doesn’t make sense to stand against something that is touted as GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. That’s just crazy.
