Knoxville man suing church after being overcome by the Holy Spirit

Apparently a man attending an evangelical church service in Knoxville had an accident after being overcome by the Holy Spirit. As this is 2008, he is now suing the church:

Last June, Matthew Lincoln was attending an evening service at his nondenominational Tennessee church when he approached the altar where a visiting minister was offering individual prayers for parishioners. Assigned “catchers” were present on the altar in case congregants fainted, fell, or otherwise lost control. When the minister, Robert Lavala, slightly touched his forehead, the Knoxville-area man “received the spirit and fell backwards.” Except nobody was there to catch him, Lincoln charges in a $2.5 million lawsuit filed yesterday against Lakewind Church and its pastors. Lincoln, 58, claims that he fell backwards, striking his head against the “carpet-covered cement floor,” according to the Circuit Court complaint,

I think this falls into the category of “you want to play, you takes ye chances.” You walk onto a golf course, you get hit with a ball in the head. You cant see anymore cause there are a bunch of numbskulls out there just like you and play as bad as you so “you takes ye chances!”

My question is was he really in the spirit or the flesh? I myself have done some things that on my own I wouldn’t do but to God be the glory I did not hurt myself because it was done under the Holy Spirit. In the event he is allowed to pursure his case, he better be prayful any monetary gain he gets can be eaten up with legal fees and other illness, so he better know that the Lord is leading him in this area.

The question is, if the quest speaker specifically requested catchers and this man has attended this church for many years as board member and on the worship team, why is no one willing to look where the resonbility lies? Did the church have competent people catching? The church has insurance for the purpose of possible injuries and such. If someone falls in your home while visiting, does your insurance not have to pay for it? It was said previously that maybe he was not under the Holy Spirit-well maybe the Holy Spirit is trying to reveal or correct the church.

As a friend of mine at a local Baptist Church once said,”Open the hood of the car. Grab the right battery pole with your right hand. Now grab that left pole with the other hand, I say UH!!!! DO YOU FEEL THE POWER!!!!????”

I’m a high church person—the higher the better. If it doesn’t look like Prague cathedral and it doesn’t have a choir that sounds like the soundtrack from the movie Omen, it’s just not real church—not really.
