Mr. Churck Bowers. I just read your article in the Powell/Karns
Shopper-News. 1. Rescind the sheriff’s office pension. This was
voted on by the voters and passed. Eliminate nepotism- yes it should be stopped BUT it has gone on for years. It just didn’t happen. PAUL PINKSTON was one of the commissioners guilty of
VIOLATING THE “SUNSHINE LAW.” Maybe you could get Pinkston
and Lumpy to vote to eliminate nepotism in all Knox Co. Depts. This all comes about because of the enforcement by the State of
Tennessee of the “Sunshine Law” and Ragsdale was the leader of
this. The “Sunshine Law” was passed by the voters many years ago and our elected officials IGNORED the “Sunshine Law” as though they were above it. It took Mike Ragsdale to clean it up
and Pinkston and his cronies can’t get over it and go on with life.
BE HONEST and work for the people who voted the politicians
into office. Tommy Schumpert and Dwight Kessell had an expense allowance from the county. There will never be another
Dwight Kessell, he really looked out for the taxpayers of Knoxville
and Knox County. Sure, mistakes have been made and they should have to repay Knox Co. ASK PAUL PINKSTON how many relatives he has that are employed by Knox County. He has some…How many got large bonus under Hutchison administration? This was printed in the News-Sentinel a few
mo’s ago. Pinkston’s relative was one who got a large bonus.

I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN ANYTHING ABOUT “RESCENDING THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE PENSION.” I did write about the wheel tax law which was passed by the voters. I DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF ONE OF KNOXVILLES SILENT MAJORITY. IF YOU CAN’T PRINT THE “TRUTH” YOU SHOULDN’T PRINT ANYTHING. CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE IF YOU HAVE THE “GUTS” TO DO SO.
I SUPPORT THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THINK THEY ARE UNDERPAID AND SHOULD HAVE THE BEST COVERAGE AS THEY
PUT THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE EVERY DAY.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE MY OPINION OF YOU AND MR. BOWERS, I THINK YOU BOTH ARE PROBABLY JUST “TROUBLE MAKERS.”
