KnoxBlabber: Has a county commissioner found a clever way to fire Mike Ragsdale?

A KnoxBlabber asks whether Commissioner William Daniels’ proposal to eliminate the Office of Neighborhoods isn’t actually a clever bid to oust the mayor:

As commissioners meet Wednesday to consider how to allocate the county’s grant monies, Knox County Commissioner William Daniels says he will propose eliminating the Knox County Office of Neighborhoods.

Daniels says he and others he’s spoken with were concerned by the fact that Office of Neighborhoods Director Alison Wagley was unable to effectively explain how the department’s dollars are spent during last week’s budget hearings.

Daniels says that as far as he can determine, the Office of Neighborhoods’ only functions are organizing the “Mayor’s Night Out” evenings, and redirecting phone calls about various community concerns.

Daniels suggests replacing the department with a single employee, earning $30,000…
