This is very disturbing, and so NOT what Knoxville needs right now.
A friend just sent me this link to an AOL Australia story indicating that Britney Spears is set to star in a movie about the Knoxville murder of Channon Christian.
Huh? What?
So I went and looked at the story and immediately recognized it as a “press release” written by a sexually obsessed racist who has frequently attempted to post comments at WBIR.com on our stories referencing Channon Christian’s murder.
I recognized the guy’s wording choices, the title of the “movie,” and the name of the “production company” as the handiwork of this lone wolf blogger, who has also sent me nasty e-mails in the past as a result of my moderation of WBIR.com’s online community.
This guy scares me. I won’t link to his blog here (suffice it to say that it is concerned almost exclusively with disturbing pornographic, racist discussions related to the tragic Knoxville murder), but I am certain this is the same person.
And now, somehow, AOL Australia has picked up this guy’s “press release” as real entertainment news, and splashed it all over the planet. Within the past hour several other international news outlets seem to have picked it up.
This is the power of the Web at its worst. I am really, really bothered that this has happened. I am going to try to track down a contact for AOL Australia’s entertainment content division to let them know this, but in the meantime, if you hear this rumor, please debunk it. And I hope Britney Spears sues him.

Help is on the way … message sent to a local who works for AOL
Who knew LissaKay was really Mighty Mouse?
Shhh! Don’t tell my cats!
Just a little note to brag about my getting this creep shut down at hizbollah-loving Network Solutions by notifying their abuse department.
He has found other outlets, however. If he’s reading I invite him to send email to me at nicholsonc@gmail.com. If I have the energy I might read the Terms of Use of his present service providers and see about getting him shut down again. Any of you can do the same.
Looks like they (along with a number of other media outlets) are simply pulling from the Bang Showbiz news feed : http://www.bangshowbiz.com/
I would recommend notifying them, as AOL Australia was only one of several to report this.
Hey, Victor. Are you still in the hell hole?
You’re all over the local blogs, aren’t you? I saw your comment on Reynold’s post elsewhere.
“… and so not what Knoxville needs right now…” Wow, what an inconvenience.
The Newsom/Christian Murders are disturbing. What’s more disturbing is how this this horrifying story has been suppressed by the national media because it doesn’t follow the politically correct story line they want to tell.
You spend more words describing the “sexually obsessed racist” than you do on the horrific crime itself. I’m sure many of your national/international readers have no idea what the crime involved. You seem more concerned about Britney Spears than you do about Channon Christian or Chris Newsom.
In a way, it does show “the power of the web.” It shows that a story can’t be suppressed. It will get out, because stories - even the “disturbing” ones that you feel “Knoxville doesn’t need right now” - have to be brought to light.
Jenn M, blogs are great because you can state your opinion. But I hope you realize that Katie was referring to the recent shootings at the church when she said “not what Knoxville needs right now”. She’s absolutely right. More negative press on our town isn’t what we need. It wouldn’t help bring to light the horrific crimes that happened to Channon and Chris. The media would portray Knoxville as some kind of sicko town and the fallout from that? None of us need it.
What makes me mad is that the international gossip about this so-called movie DOES spend more time discussing Britney Spears and not Chris and Channon. Hollywood doesn’t need to make a movie about this horrific crime. It happened, we all know it, we all followed the story and grieved for those families. We don’t need Hollywood expoiting this story just to make a buck. That is more sick than the sicko that posted the stupid story to start with.
I seriously doubt that Ms Granju wants to downplay the Newsom/Christian murders at all. I’m pretty sure that she assumes that most of the people reading this blog are familiar with the crime and the details.
What Knoxville, the Web, and the world do NOT need is the spread of the sick ideas - whether it’s trolling or false flag or serious - of the individual behind this Britney movie nonsense.
Since people are going to misunderstand until what we’re talking about is clearly pointed out, I will direct the readers to google Svengalimedia or read the blog posts of David Mills, who has been tracking this guy for a while, and who thinks it’s a false flag operation:

(I am the anonymous who posts the whois info in the comments.)
http://yacub7ali.blogspot.com/
I believe Ms Granju refrained from posting the details because they are worse than scenes from “Saw” - so if she doesn’t want her blog sullied by links to this stuff I understand why she would delete this comment.
The guy behind the Britney movie hoax is the same guy being described by David Mills here:
—begin David Mills quote (see links in previous comment)—-
The posters – masquerading as black men, and using various pseudonyms – celebrate black violence against whites. They point readers to a website promoting the “Sexiest & Hardest Ghetto Black Male Felon Bragging Rights Competition.”
In one case, they’re spreading a grotesque lie about a white female murder victim. (Basically saying she asked for it, out of extreme sexual masochism.)
—end quote—
Now do you understand?
Why don’t these so-called Media people do their research first before distributing rubbish like this? Do they not realise that the families have been through enough torment without having to read tripe like this? I hope the Christian and Newsom family sue the perpretrators.
i was almost suckered in by the “story”, noting it was flying fast around the world and being reported as “news”. i fortunately found out the source of the report just as i was about to blog about it.
amazing that much of the world’s press and entertainment feeds just glommed this up and spread it even further.
